BIND is a fast-paced fantasy RPG focussed on problem-solving for players, and easy game-maintenance for GMs.

Who needs backstory?  Players get thrown into a new world, and spend Story Points to summon their past only once they see the world.

Who wants to read all that lore on session 0?  Default character creation here is random, so nobody needs to make decisions. If you roll up a high Strength score and a low Speed score, you need to decide what that means, buy a few skills for your concept, and the game starts.

Gnome, dwarf, human, gnoll, and elf - standing by a wall.

Players get Fate Points, enemies don't. The result is fast-paced combat, where even the largest opponent can be felled in one or two strikes.  Combat rarely goes past two rounds.

The XP system contains heavy narrative elements, with players picking a code which gives rewards for embodying their creed.

BIND will never see house-rules. You can download all source-files online, change them, and reprint the pdf.

Very nice. Although I have to ask, are some pages supposed to be all in bold text? As near as I can tell they aren't any different from the other pages otherwise.

On closer inspection, those pages aren't so much bold as fuzzy (pg 170 for instance). Not sure what's up with that. And, minor point, "auguary" ought to be spelled augury.

Pretty good looking game overall though.

Enjoy rules-lite. Enjoy classless. Gave this a click. The Warning popped up: "ADULT CONTENT!" Huh? This isn't Gor or an "adult themed" sci-fi game. Full-size preview shows an ordinary set of rules. "Alternative preview" same rules, with a cover which includes an illo of a nude woman, partially screened - not full frontal. Has nothing to do with the rules themselves, nor the theme, milieu, or anything else. Seems gratuitious. "Sex sells"? Hope this was not just a marketing ploy. Rules do look interesting. Would have tried them anyway.

Thanks for the comment. For the curious, the cover was intended as a nod towards the artistic style of Frank Frazetta, the driving force behind Fire and Ice, and Conan the Barbarian.

These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
