D100 Dungeon (Book 1) is a game in which you will steer an adventurer through underground caves and dungeons, looking for lost treasures and completing dangerous quests. With each game your adventurer will gain wealth, recognition and become stronger and increasingly skilled in their pursuits. All you will need to play D100 Dungeon, is a pencil, eraser, a few dice and your imagination.

Your journey begins when you create an adventurer and start performing the dungeon training missions. Once they have been successfully completed your adventurer will be ready to face some greater challenges and begin questing in an endeavour to gain notoriety and wealth, rivalling that of royalty and who knows one day their greatest exploits might even become stories and songs performed by bards in every tavern throughout the kingdom.

This version of the D100 Dungeon game is known as D100 Dungeon V3; it supersedes the earlier versions known as V1 and V2. You will need version 3 D100 Dungeon in order to use and play any of the books, pdfs and accessories here on DriveThruRPG. Older versions (V1 and V2) will not translate well into this edition.

WHICH PRODUCT IS RIGHT FOR YOU?

Below are some details on the PDF and Print on Demand options available to you, which might help you to choose which product is right for you.

The Watermarked PDF is what we refer to as the Digital Edition. The watermark is very small and appears at the very bottom of every page on the left hand side. It will show your account name and an order number; it will not block or cover any of the text inside the book. The pages have a white background.

The Hardcover, Premium Color Book is what we refer to as the Collector’s Edition. It has a collector’s badge on the front cover and a gold spine effect. The pages inside are printed in full colour with a background on premium paper. The book has a glossy hardback cover. Please note: There is not a Collector’s Edition of the Watermarked PDF, and so if you choose the “Watermarked PDF + Hardcover, Premium Color Book” option, the PDF you download does not have the full colour background.

The Hardcover, Standard Color Book is what we refer to as the Hardback Edition. It has a standard badge on the front cover and a grey spine. The pages inside are printed in colour on a white background and on white paper. The book has a glossy hardback cover.

The Softcover, Standard Color Book is what we refer to as the Softback Edition. It has a standard badge on the front cover and a grey spine. The pages inside are printed in colour on a white background and on white paper. The book has a glossy softback cover.

Hi, there are no rule changes. All books from previous versions are still valid and current. It’s purely a cosmetic upgrade. I have switched to new publishing software as of book 7 and the d100 space books and so all previous supplements needed to be brought forward into the new format. I decided the two column approach to be more in keeping with rpg books and added more images whilst either manipulating black and white art or dropping them completely. I am quite pleased with the updated result and hope the new layout is well received. If you own the older format books, I have made sure they are not superseded by the updated ones, so there is no need or no one is forced into upgrading. My goal with D100 Dungeon and D100 Space is to not force players to keep buying updated revisions of the same books. (Note this is a copy and paste response to a FB post I made in the D100 Dungeon group.)

I gotta agree with everyone else, the two column text body change is great looking. The cosmetic change to some of the tables is also beautiful, especially Mapping A from book 4.

Hi Martin, great game! after searching on YouTube for the solo experience that best suits me I looked no further after finding your masterpiece!

A question regarding max INT:
The rules specify that a Characteristic bonus cant go over +20, or a max 80 with all bonuses.
so with INT (presuming you start as a spell caster) it can basically get to 50+20=70 (maybe a bit higher with a bit of bonuses here and there).
So why does the spell book have lines for Lvl. 90 and 100? how are you supposed to be able to cast them?
Maybe INT can be treated different than STR and DEX and can go up to 100?

This is very strange as the pdf isn't password protected. I can only suggest you try downloading the pdf again, or try another pdf reader; and if this still doesn't help, reach out to customer support as this should not be happening.

I looked on my laptop, and it said I have access to print it. I don't know why the library copy machine won't print it from my thumb drive. My pdf is old though. It was back when it was free I think. I am thinking of just getting a pod at some point instead of trying to print it.

Howdy there, I just have a rules question regarding the monster reaction results and can’t find an answer anywhere on the net.
Under the 1 and 2 results it says “Monster has less than 1/2 it’s HP gains AV+5/+10.”
The written section says that if the monster did not try to escape then it makes an attack. It does not specify that it makes an attack with the added AV for just this round, or if the AV bonus is permenant.
Does the monster make an attack on a result of 1 or 2 on that round?
Is the AV increase just for that round or is it permenant and accumulative?

… if it is accumulative, then I have a 1 HP rat with a 55 AV. Please send help.

Hi Macauley F, the bonus to the monsters AV is just for the forthcoming round. At the end of the round its AV returns to normal.

This system looks awesome. I have already purchased the world builder (before even Bk1) because my interest is really in long campaigns. I have perused it and watched many videos (dungeon dive, Canje, geek gamers, and I think, artichoke). I am now purchasing Bk 1 and also considering the accessories on Game Crafters. Is book 1 included in the Game Crafters set? I am thrilled to read in comments that Book 2 covers parties, so I will be purchasing that as well. I'm excited to get started!

I just bought book 1 and book 6. I noticed the character sheets are different. There was only added fields to book 6 compared to book 1 (v3.2) character sheets. Are the character sheets not standardized for this system? As I plan to get the other books, will there be character sheet differences? If so, which character sheet would be the most complete?

Hi, I would recommend using the Adventure Sheets from the World Builder. They can be downloaded from: https://www.mk-games.co.uk/downloads using the BOOK 6: WORLD BUILDER GAME SHEETS. The Adventure Sheet in this download is the most up to date.

These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
