OQ3, P55: under Animals, there is Cart (under Bull).
I'm guessing it's the two-wheeled version that is pulled along by a draft animal or person?
Also, what is the encumbrance capacity of a cart and wagon?

Hello, I was hoping for a rule clarification. On page 32 of the core rulebook it says Growth Costs vary by expertise (0-25, 26-50 etc all have difference growth costs to gain +5% to a Skill). But on page 33 it has a table called "Summary of Growth Costs" under Growing Magic and it says one Growth Point gives +5% to a Skill.

So I'm wondering why does it say 1 Growth Point gives +5% to a Skill when the Growth Cost varies by expertise on page 32?

Thanks!

If you want to play Runequest but have an easier time learning it, pick this game up. I actually think it's a perfect game. Props to the devs for creating a great product. I will definitely be using this in conjunction with my Mythras and RQG books. I'm honestly blown away by how awesome this is as it's exactly what I wanted.

Hello. I had a couple of questions regarding the Sorcery rules.

1) Page 136 mentions "area spells". The context is that a target would have to dive for cover in order to effectively evade them with the Dodge skill. However, I did not see any such spell in this section. Were spells with an Area of Effect an intended feature?

2) I just need a clarification on how resistances work with regards to Sorcery spells. In order to resist a spell, does the target only need to succeed at their roll? Or do they also need to roll higher than the caster's casting roll (as per opposed rolls)?

Why can't I find a Chimera writeup anywhere, OQ3e, RQ any edition or Legend?

Mythras/RuneQuest 6 has a chimera write-up. Google the Mythras Encounter Generator if you are interested in getting a statted-up version randomly generated (I haven't checked if someone has uploaded a template for this, but it's 99% likely)

Any chance we can get an OQ 3e softcover option?

Any option for softcover in the future? Asking since POD sometimes has issues with hardcover.

Are the versions on the d101 Games website offset print or POD copies?

This is a rather nice version of a well known d100 system, and it has several interesting improvements that will likely make life easier for both players and GMs, while still maintaining compatibility. It is worth the money despite others that exist in the d100 field.

How much does this differ from the 2nd Edition Deluxe version I have?
It looks like all of the titles I've purchased are no longer available. Will they all get updated?

It's largely backwards compatible since I used OQ 2 Deluxe as the base. But it's been polished, updated enough to me to call it a 3rd Edition. The preview gives the first 20 or so pages almost up to the end of character generation so that you can do a side by side comparison.

This rather long blog post goes into it in detail https://openquestrpg.com/2020/06/

You can use the old setting/adventure books (Life and Death, The Savage North, Crucible of the Dragons) with it. Only the Savage North is getting an immediate revised version, called The Saga of the Savage North. And that's a new version, so people who bought the 1st/2nd edition Savage North won't be getting an automatic upgrade. No plans to update Crucible of the Dragons, and I really want to go to town on Life and Death, which will be a new version with a new title that is not even on my immediate list for new stuff.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
