Scion: Pride 2021 is the second in a series of yearly supplements celebrating LGBTQ+ Pride for our Scion community by offering some LGBTQ+ related content for use in your campaigns! In this detailed supplement, gain insight into LGBTQ+ patrons, birthrights, historical and mythological queerness, and more! Most of the royalties gained from this supplement will be donated to a variety of Black Queer charities and we encourage DTRPG and OPP to do the same with their proceeds. As such, while we suggest a donation of $10, we have left it as Pay What You Want in case you'd like to provide more or are only able to pay a smaller amount at this time. Either way, thank you and happy Pride!

This product includes:

  • 5 new LGBTQ+ divine patrons of varying pantheons, orientations, and identities to use in your games!
  • An exploration of Drag in Scion including new birthrights!
  • 7+ new LGBTQ+ themed birthrights to enhance your gameplay and add queer elements to your campaigns!
  • Fantastic Art!

Compatible with Scion Second Edition. Requires the use of Scion: Origin from Onyx Path Publishing.

Sad there was no new edition last year. Is there a plan for a 2023 edition?

Hi! I sadly do not have the time to oversee this project anymore but money is still being donated to many excellent queer causes. I encourage anyone reading this to create more excellent queer Nexus content!

How much new content is there between this book and the Pride 2020 book?

All of it is new as in there is none of this content in Pride 2020.

Yes, the majority of the patrons of Theoi but honestly this is an offical supliment that is 100% queer focused. That is so beyond rare for any ttrpg outside of indie games. WotC only pay lip service or have a single picture of a gay couple. I for one want more and more of this. Please keep doing this next year as well.

Also like... of course its primarially Theoi, the greeks and the greek pantheon is gay af.

It's not official (it does have line writers like yours truly working on it) but, hey, who knows what could happen in the future? :-) Glad you like it!

Pretty limited selection of new gods, every pantheon has cool things to work with, but this is almost all Theoi.

The drag section only shows a very rose tinted view of the practice and doesnt touch on the punching down or the exploitation that also goes with the form.

The birthrights are also mainly theoi.

Pride 2020 was great, a bit phoned in this year.

Thank you for your comment. We can only provide what our volunteers wish to write and as it is a volunteer effort there's not much we can do. Hopefully, we'll continue to get more diverse insights in future Pride publications.

i love this book, but i noticed that a majority of the new patrons were theoi. out of the five new gods introduced, only two were not of the greek pantheon. i don't know if this has any deeper meaning, but i find it interesting.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
