Warhammer Age of Sigmar Soulbound: Era of the Beast

Behold the Era of the Beast!

The Mortal Realms quake as Kragnos, the End of Empires, escapes his centuries-long imprisonment and rampages across the realms.

Era of the Beast offers players and GMs a chance to follow the ongoing narrative of the Age of Sigmar universe, and brings the timeline forward to the Era of the Beast and the emergence of Kragnos, the End of Empires. This book recounts the events of the Broken Realms saga and updates the lore of major cities and the status of the gods of the realms. Era of the Beast details the lands of Thondia, allowing players to adventure in Ghur, the Realm of Beasts and includes new Archetypes to add to your Soulbound game. Lastly, from the swamps of the realms come the terrifying Kruleboyz — twisted, swamp dwelling Orruks who slink from the mire to cut their enemy’s throats! The book includes

  • A complete retelling of the Broken Realms saga.

  • Advice on playing and running games during the Era of the Beast, and how the emergence of a new god (and the rise of a goddess!) have affected your character.

  • Detailed information on Ghur, the Realm of Beasts, gives players a whole new realm to explore!

  • Ten new Archetypes to play, including the Hurakan Windcharger of the Lumineth Realm-lords, the Knight-Relictor of the Stormcast Eternals, and the Melusai and Khinerai of the Daughters of Khaine.

  • A new Species, complete with their own Archetype — the Draconith, bitter enemies of Kragnos!

  • Over a dozen new statblocks for the Kruleboyz give GMs a deadly new foe to unleash on their players.

Why does the PDF now have the complete set of (non-functional) bookmarks for Champions of Destruction listed as "Champions of Order Advertisement" in the bookmarks?

Thankfully, the pdf is not locked, so I just deleted it, but it still seems sloppy.

The Errant Draconith is a 38 point package. As a non-Soulbound option, should it be adjusted to be a 30 point package (choice of one more talent or 2 more skill XP) or is this similar to the Nighthaunt options that payed 2 points for a special piece of gear?

Sorry, meant adjusted up to a 40 point package (like Stormcast Eternals and Ossiarch Bonereapers).

You might have found this by now after nearly a year of owning it.

But in Appendix B, they include subfactions for the Draconith that add 2 Xp to spend for either Arcana/Channeling or Weapon skill/Might.
That might be where the extra 2 xp for being non-soulbound comes from.
Especially since the species is already loaded with abilities.

Since Champions of Order, everyone gets a 2-pt sub-faction bonus, so that alone would not rebalance them.

Page 103 (which I first noticed in my hard copy before dowloading a revised version of the pdf) now contains a box stating that Draconith are 38-point characters that start with Draconith Barding. This resolves the issue.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
