Vehicle Handbook: A Vehicle Expansion for Twilight 2000 4th Edition

ADD TO WISHLIST >

VEHICLE HANDBOOK is a collection of vehicles for use with Twilight 2000© 4th edition. Inside this 58-page supplement, you'll find more than ninety 20th-century (and a few from the 21st) vehicles for use in your Twilight 2000©campaigns.

The Player’s Manual for Twilight 2000© 4th Edition has a great selection of vehicles. This expansion broadens that selection to include vehicles from previous editions of Twilight 2000©, images/information on vehicles that were'nt pictured in the Player’s Manual, and some of my favorite military and civilian vehicles. Also included in the appendices are the rules from the Wood Gas supplement. The vehicle tables at the back of this book contain all the vehicles from both the Player's Manual and the VEHICLE HANDBOOK.

I’ve tried to keep this supplement focused on vehicles from the 20th century, but included a few that came to production just at (or a little after) 2000. In this alternate-history, the US Army adopted both the M8 AGS and Stingray tanks, as well as bringing the M1117 and M1128 into service a couple years early. I’ve taken some liberties with engines, weapons, and some other variables, but tried to preserve the character of each vehicle. I hope you find these to be welcome additions to your Twilight 2000© games. Death before dismount!

I'm running my T2K game on Foundry and was wondering if the art assets used in the pdf could be made available as in a png or other useable format for icons and tokens?

I hope the LAV-75 will make a comeback as it was in both 1st and 2nd ed.!

Thanks

Nice handbook but I for at least a few vehicles you've been a bit too enthousiastic about the armour. Both the AMX 30 and Leopard I are on par with an M60. In the real world though they were quite lightly armoured due to different design philosophies. In my old Twilight 2000 2.2 handbook the difference is considerable.

The FV-101 Scorpion in real life has all round protection from 7.62mm rounds and on the front it should stop 14.5 mm HMG's. With the ratings you gave it many autocannons would be hard pressed to penetrate the armour. Maybe revisit some stats in a next revision? I say next because I do like this handbook.

Hi Tom, thank you for the feedback, and for purchasing the guide! If I do any revisions to this title, I'll definitely dig into the armor values on those MBTs and the Scorpion (and probably Scimitar).

I would like to see a revision on the armour values also - I am glad you are considering looking into this

It seems like th BvS 10 Viking is missing or is it in with another definition?

Hi there, I did not include that vehicle in the book. Maybe we'll see it in an upcoming Free League title.

Just working through this - there’s at least one typo at page 2

ARV = Armored Fighting Vehicle

First impression - nice looking, I’ll have to go through it in more detail. A suggestion - I think the boxes for the vehicle stats could be expanded and the stat block text could be made larger

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
