What is RGS?

'Ranks Game System' (RGS or Ranks for short), is an easy to learn tabletop RPG game system best suited for narrative or grid based campaigns that have a high-fantasy, sci-fi or superhero theme.

The RGS expansions were collected together, improved upon and then forged into a single and neatly designed PDF dubbed as the Complete Collection. Having all the tools at hand opens the doors for even more campaign types! So it's time to buckle up and start creating those zombie apocalypse, wild west and robot invasions where heroes with or without special powers can shine!



What To Expect From The RGS Complete Collection

Ranks Game System (RGS) is a Core Rulebook that allows players and game masters to create playable characters, NPCs and stories quickly so they can get in-game faster. Recruit and rescue heroes and even play as them during a session. If you have minis then this is a perfect game system to use them in. This system makes being a game master fun and more involved, while allowing players to use their imagination more flexibly and fluidly.

The 1.0 complete collection includes the RGS 'Core Rulebook', 'Settlements', 'Combat', 'Micro'  and 'Roleplay' expansions and has combined them into one neat PDF. Offering a wide variety of tools for the GM and players to further immerse themselves within their worlds. Additionally included with the collection, is the printable character sheet and four page GM reference screen.

You'll be surprised! With a little imagination and some good friends these fifty seven pages pack quite the punch by providing the tools necessary to create and play nearly any adventure type!

My group is really enjoying the system! Especially great for those who are new to tabletop games. The first time someone landed a crit the whole table erupted laughing and went crazy! It really gets you thinking about the environment you are in. So much fun!

Thank you - I hope you all continue to have fun adventures. Always fun to get that big damage. One of the players in a game I hosted awhile back, knew their efforts were waning, as they faced off with the final boss. In a last ditch effort to save their companions, they tackled the boss off a cliff and barreled down to their death - it was a pretty epic heroes death haha - the checks and damage on that fall was nuts! :) But hey, If you love the game system, I greatly appreciate a stars or written review!

Thank you for the patience Joshua! It was a backend issue causing the problem so the website devs had to take some time with it. The PHNX and Legacy team have resolved the preview issue. I may end up adding a few more pages to the preview in the future, but for now the feature is up and running. If you have any other questions feel free to ask!

These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
