Wrath & Glory: Threat Assessment: Xenos

ADD TO WISHLIST >

Threat Assessment: Xenos contains a mass of new alien threats to challenge Agents of any Tier, and is the perfect companion to any Warhammer 40,000 Wrath & Glory campaign.

As well as massively expanding the Xenos factions found in the Wrath & Glory Core Rulebook, this book explores newcomers to the Gilead system, including the enigmatic T’au, the voracious Kroot, and the slowly stirring Necrons whose claim to the system may be older than the Imperium itself.

Threat Assessment: Xenos is the first in a collection of bestiaries for Wrath & and Glory, containing a wealth of new and exciting GM information and deadly enemies.

The book includes:

  • New rules for lethal battlezone hazards to surprise your Agents
  • Profiles for the ancient Aeldari, including Asuryani, Harlequins, Corsairs, and Drukhari.
  • Enough rampaging Orks to start a WAAAGH!
  • The waking Necrons, including powerful units such as Crypteks and Flayed Ones
  • A stranded T’au Strike Force of Fire Warriors, Drones, Crisis Suits, and more.
  • A full Kroot mercenary company, and their attendant beasts
  • Insidious hybrids of the Genestealer Cults, paving the way for their true masters to descend from the stars

Threat Assessment: Xenos is an essential purchase for the Wrath and Glory line, massively expanding a GM’s arsenal of Threats with carefully crafted stat blocks for a host of factions.

When will the PDF be updated as it's an early copy with several errors that have been corrected in the print version?

I own the print version, and it still has a great many errors in it. Sadly, some of the errors in the Aeldari section got copy/paste lifted to reappear in the Aeldari sourcebook pdf. This line appears cursed to suffer from extremely poor proofing.

It would be really nice if the Aeldari threats had their weapon information corrected. As it is, it's so messy that it's hard to tell new errors in the Aeldari Inheritence of Embers file from repeats of old errors lifted from this product.

I was just notified that my print copy is shipping to me. I really hope the printed product is fully updated with all of the current errata.

Is there any information on genestealer cults in here? Bullet points says there is, but reviews don't seem to mention them.

Yes, there is a fairly large amount of Genestealer Cult coverage.

I reported a couple including missing text in the unique ability of the genestealer Primus stat block quite a while ago and the pdf has not been updated since I got it. I think that, unless they have just not released an updated pdf version, the errors that remain will find their way to the print version.

I really like this book. There are a few obvious errors in some of the stat blocks, but overall it's a good product and will be a great one after a bit of errata.

It does look like the Tau species blocks (minus the XP costs) were lifted from a player-aimed sourcebook, so hopefully we'll see more on that in the near future.

When I said "a few obvious errors" above, that was after a quick skim. There are actually a lot of errors. Some are amusing, like a skill rating of 102, which is obviously wrong, but should it be 10 or 12...? This kind of oopsie sneaks its way into a lot of the baddies.

I'm very disappointed.
The books gives targets for the bullet-p*rn, but no tangible options to make the non-humans a little more playable.
Options, not statbloks to kill, is what *I* would like to see.

That's clear.

I'd had to say: I'm disapointed with the priorization of the order of materials.
We received very superficial rules for playable xenos, and a high amount of work was now put intő making them beasts to kiló, and not options to play.

They are beasts to kill, brother. Suffer not the xenos to live.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
