Orbital Debris is a moon-spanning junkyard hex-crawl for the Mothership Sci-Fi Horror RPG. A sprawling, debris-collecting moon sporadically warps through space as its ancient core malfunctions. Centuries of troubled travel have left the moon a crumpled world of junk housing the remnants of great wars, catastrophes, and the memories of countless civilizations.

Explore 23 strange environments. Discover dangerous factions vying for power and control. Meet astonishing NPCs and learn incredible rumors. Unearth horrifying alien and technological threats. Plus, much more!

Created as a community collaboration between 13 authors and 5 artists, and coming in at 98+ pages in an A5-sized format, Orbital Debris is perfect for any Warden looking for their next campaign or looking to add more junk to their universe!

23 Eclectic Hexes: Written by a team with a wealth of experience. Including contributors to the Mothership 1e Box Set, writers for official Mothership adventures, published third-party creators, and some all-new voices, Orbital Debris offers your players a wide range of experiences. These distinct voices present flavorful interpretations of what's been collected in the vast dark: a giant mecha graveyard, a record-keeping Grand Scriptorium in a desert of old writing utensils, a psychic prison, and more!

Interconnected Environments: We've made sure that each hex is seamlessly integrated into the book. Draw your players across the map with rumors and plot hooks delivered by memorable NPCs, discover precious treasures valued in distant hexes, and deal with intensifying consequences from continual faction interactions.

3 Clashing Factions: Meet the forces vying for control of the moon's surface and the secrets lurking below. Each faction has separate motivations, conflicts, and random tables to build out their ranks.

  • The Bloody Burrowers believe digging and discovering great works are intrinsically good. They claim an intimacy with the Core unrivaled from the other factions.
  • The Reclaimers founded the Cult of Repurposement, breathing meaning into their junk-filled world. Trash is reborn through newfound meaning and purpose.
  • The Executive Suits are a corporate empire fallen into slapdash feudalism. Cabinet members, barons, and the Trash President have become cybernetic monstrosities hoarding anything that garners them more power.

20+ Named NPCs: A huge cast of non-player characters give depth to each faction and location. A multitude of personalities will leave players deliberating on how they can avoid overstepping boundaries, gain power and influence, and survive long enough to escape. Characters range from the inhumane and cybermodded Trash President, the charismatic DJ Sonic Nova, the infected child oracle Sybil, and the hulking Baron.

Ratcheting Tension: Stakes increase as players are presented with more and more conflicts to solve, alliances to forge, and horrors to overcome. No deed is without consequence, known or unknown.

Random Generators: Build on the layers of the moon with extra NPCs, excite your players with deeper mysteries, and drop increasingly powerful and dangerous tech. Add variety and surprise to your game at every turn.

  •  NPC Generators for each faction: Expand on your favorite factions with a near-endless variety of NPCs
  •  D100 Scrap Table: Never run out of useful and useless junk for your players to discover
  •  Junkyard Hex Generator: Explore beyond the edge of the map with the ability to generate hundreds of hexes, wrapping the moon with wonder
  • What’s Happening at the Edge: Generate weather effects, hostile encounters, or impassable environments to challenge your players
  • Tech Trash Table: These high-risk, high-reward artifacts can give your players immense power with incredible drawbacks. Use with caution!

A Complete Campaign: Orbital Debris is the most varied place in the universe and the perfect place for your next campaign. Taunt your players with encounters that draw them across the surface, solve the puzzle of revitalizing their ship to save themselves, or stay and survive by forming alliances and eradicating enemies.

...or a Book of One Shots: Already have a campaign or looking for something shorter? No problem. Use the in-book guidance to adapt hexes into stand alone adventures, place hexes into any existing setting, or string them together for variable mini-arcs.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
