Selected Option:

The Sandbox Generator is a simple but powerful tool for DMs. It allows you to easily create a world from scratch when you prepare your next campaign. It will provide you with all the necessary information about your world: from the biomes map, to a lord’s coat of arms and the menu of the local tavern! It is also convenient for solo players and DMs who want to generate their world during the game session.

This book aims to create a pseudo-feudal fantasy world and is meant to be used with your favorite OSR ruleset and bestiary.

New worlds await: they are only a few rolls away…

Bonjour,

But on this section my question concerned the English one.
Any new updates will come soon before I rebuy it or this one is probably the last one ?

Thank you

Why is all the PDF text grey instead of black? The lower contrast makes print outs more difficult to read.

Hey, I'm not sure what you mean. The text in the pdf is black and I just did a print test and it seems good to me. Did you try multiple pdf readers?

Why are there so many versions and updates? Which one is the good one to keep? At least, some explanation in the description would be appreciated, in order to avoid us having to download them all and check the differences side by side.

Hello, the right file is the latest one and is named "Sandbox_Generator_(updated_15-07-24).pdf". There is a word about the last two updates in the description :) I leave old files around so people can still access them if they need them for some reason.

I want to say thanks!! This is amazing. Here is some correction for the updated_05-07-24 version to be edited. Thank you and keep it up! I love all your work!

Pg. 24 & 25 the tables seems ‘centered’ instead of left justified.
Pg. 30 E) Adjectives, Colors. The two columns seems too close.
Pg. 31 (H Nature, Topography. The two columns seems too close.
Pg.39 6) Buildings of Interest. Two columns seem too close.
Pg.40 Business columns seem too close.
Pg. 126 3)Name under the Example for “philosophy”. . . the roll of 6 description. “The Sisters/Brotehrs of Philosophy seems justified when it
may not be intended to be so.

Pg. 94 2nd to last paragraph all of their reaction rolls have a “malus”. I think you mean Minus.

Hi, Eric! Thanks for your comment. Everything you mentioned has been corrected in the latest version of the PDF (except for the centered tables pp. 24-25 - this was intended). The corrections will be in the print versions as well. Also, thank you for your kind words :)

Hello!

When generating a city I noticed something odd in page 38.

Under the Characteristics table, a 4) Appearance table appears with no instructions on how to use it, then, on page 24, a 4) Points of Interest a table appears again.

I assume the Appearance table is to be rolled as the Characteristics table and that from page 38 onward, the numbering should be increased by one.

Is this correct?

Hey! I just checked and you are right, the numbering is wrong and should be increased by one after page 38. For the Appearance table, you can do as you said but rolling 1d20 once is okay too. Thanks for pointing that out :)

Is there by chance a version of the PDF that can be printed in 'spreads' so I can print it and place it in a small 3-ring binder or saddle staple my own in a book format?

Book arrived today. Awesome to have it in my hands.

Comments. There have been concerns about the body of the text on the page being too close to the spine. As of today, I do not know if this was changed, or is still in need of doing.
But, the book as a hardcover does not suffer from this detail. It might matter with a softcover as the act of holding the book open might over stress the binding.
Which is why I prefer hardcover.

This digest sized book is going to be one of my prized DM tools though.

Kudos to the creator of this product.

There is a book out there that everyone is glowing about.
It's a thick volume full of DM advice I'd only need if I was something of a clever plant. I won't mention the name, I'm not a dick :)

THIS book is what a great DM tool actually looks like. No brain dead obvious advice, just a lot of great tools to make my job easier. And a well done assortment it is too.
Could I have written this? Easily enough. And it would take as much time and effort as it likely took the author. And sometimes, the best choice is buy someone else's accomplishment and just enjoy it for a fair price.

Found it on Amazon. Likely about the same as through here for the hardback. I'll check into the process and either Amazon wins, or I get it here.

That's my way of saying I am putting my money where my mouth is :)

To the author, well done.

I bought the Print on Demand of this book, and it's really dope, but I have a suggestion if you'll hear it.

I think the inside margin is too slim, and the text gets sort of lost in the fold of the book. I've got to really jam my thumb in there and hold the book at an angle to read it.

My suggestion is the decrease the gutter between the columns and slide the inner text out by a bit.

Are the other generator products still worth it if I have this one? Wilderness Pointcrawl Generator, City Pointcrawl Generator, Dungeon Pointcrawl Generator, Cave Pointcrawl Generator, Castle Generator, Village Generator? Are they superseded by Sandbox Generator or do they still offer content and procedures that are not in the Sandbox Generator? Thanks

Hey! The procedures in the pointcrawl generators are unique to them, but most tables from Dungeon Pointcrawl Generator and City Pointcrawl Generator are included in Sandbox Generator, so I would not recommend buying those two. Same for Castle and Village Generator. The supplements included in whole or in part in Sandbox Generator are listed at the end of the product description. I hope this answers your question :)

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
