Part of PocketQuest 2023, RADD Infinitum! is a far-future science fiction solo RPG where you explore the galaxy and face dangerous aberrations, search for lost technologies, and discover the cause of the Great Collapse of humanity’s galactic civilization. You will step into the role of a lone Pilot of an interstellar Dropship and command a highly advanced biomechanical ‘Zoid known as a Remote Assault & Discovery Drone (RADD). The included set of random generation tables and a simple rules system with just enough crunch promises exciting adventure and a roguelite vibe. Your mission? Recover lost tech and, ultimately, find out why human galactic civilization collapsed.

  • A brand-new sci-fi setting! Explore a galaxy teeming with the wondrous technological remnants left behind to intermix willy-nilly after the mysterious collapse of the Old Terran Empire a few centuries ago.
  • Discover Enigmagic, cosmoplasm, MacGyverists, Nostalgiamancers, the Knights of Nanite Integration, and many other bizarre friends, foes and features.
  • 19 random generation tables packed with enough technobabble to make every setting, creature or piece of technology you find unique, plus dozens of mission challenges to overcome. 
  • Innovative rules for solo gameplay: Missions can go "sideways," creating drama and a chance to recover from failure; a "clash" results when both combatants get the same roll, sparking dynamic fights; some enemies are "persistent," coming back to haunt you later in the game like a true nemesis; and...
  • Randomly generated clues regarding the reasons for the Great Collapse are disguised in a spoiler-resistant alien cipher (example below!), which can be deciphered as you play. Win the game by collecting and deciphering all three clues. Since the clues are randomly generated with the included cipher tables, you can discover a different reason for the Great Collapse with each playthrough.

Gameplay:
  • Random chance is determined by rolling one or more ten-sided dice and by taking the highest result. There are also optional rules describing how to play with a standard deck of cards!
  • Character creation features an innovative "Character Triumvirate" system where you create a Pilot, Dropship and 'Zoid. You imagine yourself as the Pilot who controls the 'Zoid, which embarks on many missions. The Dropship functions as a mobile home base. The Character Triumvirate system is designed to provide seamless solo gameplay!
  • Use the descriptive random tables to give flavor to any item or enemy you encounter, building the story in your mind as you go. 
  • The real meat of the gameplay is found in the mission challenge tables, which feature numerous randomly generated combat and non-combat encounters.

These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
