Popular with modest budget travellers who still want a little luxury and what could be more comforting than a warm room, a clean bed and one of Judith Harth’s spicy meat broths. The inn is run by a mother daughter pair, with Judith and Karen keeping a tight ship.With three luxury rooms (1-2gp), five attic beds (3sp) and plenty of blankets and floor space (1sp), on the busiest nights the small building can be a lively crowded place where diverse and interesting people mix.Judith’s passion for vintage brandy means the drinks menu is an unexpected treat for connoisseurs, and wine merchants are regularly seen visiting.
