100 Hooks and Rumours for Terrinoth II

ADD TO WISHLIST >

Characters may at some point ask around for information, and this supplement has 100 things for them to hear when doing so. Whether or not what they hear is true is up to the GameMaster. These rumours can be used as background colour and as potential adventure hooks.

This PDF supports Adobe layers and the page backgrounds and images can be disabled to make printing easier.

Here are some sample results:

  • Selonish is a commune village outside of First Fall on the Selenic Coast that's occupied by elementalists and spiritseekers. Mannen is the ancient spiritseeker who oversees the village, and she's given up active pursuit of additional mastery. Or, at least, that's what's claimed. It's rumoured that Mannen is still delving into some things, and that these are the types of studies that would cause her problems if known.
  • Some of the finest smiths in the land can be found in the Free City of Forge, but the waits for apprentices wanting to learn the trade are long with only a few taken every year. It's rumoured that some prospective apprentices are tired of waiting as long as they have to, and have taken to making others, both actual and would-be apprentices, suffer from "accidents" in order to reduce the field.
  • Some still travel to the Misty Hills, in search of the ancient relics and knowledge that's said to still be found in the region. This is a dangerous thing to do, as very few of those who venture into the region return, and it's not known if any have been successful in their aims. Some claim that the legends of relics and knowledge are stories put forth to lure the foolish into the Misty Hills to meet their ends.
  • Sundergard is a fortress that lies to the south of Riverwatch and often serves as a remote base of operations for Riverwatch's militia and rangers. It's rumoured that Riverwatch is planning to increase the number of troops based out of the fortress permanently, possibly due to fear of increased threats in the area.
  • Tamalir is the base of operations for many adventurers, serving as a home away from home as they venture out into the lost ruins of the land. Though most adventurers use Tamalir as a base for explorations, it's said that some use it as a place to explore in and of itself.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
