The Exigents are many and myriad, but also utterly unique. They’re not a single kind of Exalted, but the manifold Chosen of Creation’s countless little gods. In times of dire need, gods can petition the Unconquered Sun for a spark of the Exigence — a bonfire of pure, creative power — to raise up their own Exalted champions. Exigents have left their mark on Creation’s history as individual heroes, tipping the scales of power across countless wars, revolutions, and dynasties.

The seven nations of Everend maintain peace after centuries of struggle — a peace now rapidly deteriorating. In an explosive demonstration of power, one nation pierced reality and called forth daemons from the Void through the resulting gates.

Now, all nations rush to gain daemonic magic for themselves. As the nations prepare for battle, common folk go about their daily lives fearing the brutality of war and the daemons’ incomprehensible power.
