Can someone who has played this tell me if it is soloable? I have seen it for a while and looks fantastic but work has me limited to any group time. I know of the Mythic system etc. but some work better and others it is just too much work.

It's about the same as D&D is in that regard. So you would basically have to be your own Game Master. (I did that a lot with D&D when I was younger.) The adventures are not really set up for solo play. Its something I've discussed with the owner but for now, the books mostly assume you are playing with a small group.

I'm torn on this one. I really like the stand alone cinematic adventures and have almost all of them, so I expect this duplicates most of the new rules found there. I still want to throw my money at this company because they make good stuff and have super friendly people and I want to support them. Is there any new material in here not found in the collective cinematic adventures?

That's exactly what I wanted to ask, thank you (and let's hope in a prompt answer)

There is some new stuff. It's far from the majority of the book, but I added in a number of things that were either promised during the Kickstarter or where requested/suggested by fans. Here's what's unique to this book.

1. Two new Career Paths (Crime and Office Work) these are like choose your way professions if you haven't seen the one in Rambo (Special Forces)
2. A class called Everyday Hero which can be played with any archetype and is kind of a build your own class, class.
3. Level 0 play rules, which includes a level 0 archetype and how to go from level 0 to level 1.
4. A set of rules for playing level 0 kids which has a series of mini classes like Smart Kid, Tough Kid, etc...
5. A set of rules for extending play past level 10.
6. A number of new monsters and robots to replace Kong/Pac Rim specific NPCs.
7. A small set of errata and additions for the core rules (pretty minor adjustments).

Okay, so as a backer who has both the cinematic adventures and The Vault: get the Vault.

Having everything in one place, stripped of the IPs is so much more valuable than you'd think. On top of that, while the Devs have said The Vault is roughly 10/90 new and old content, I argue it *feels* 30/70 with the new content and rules they've introduced to skirt IPs and just make things...better? I can't explain it properly, but I vastly prefer The Vault.

There are very minor differences in some of the classes, but nothing is lost in translation. $66 CAD is a lot, but right now at $33? Done deal, no hesitation.

How come there is no Print on Demand option here?

Thanks for the question. I believe there are two reasons.
1. We have to verify it can produce a clean looking book before we activate it for customers.
2. We want to wait until retail game stores have gotten the books before making it available as print on demand.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
