100 Hooks and Rumours for Terrinoth III

Characters may at some point ask around for information, and this supplement has 100 things for them to hear when doing so. Whether or not what they hear is true is up to the GameMaster. These rumours can be used as background colour and as potential adventure hooks.

This PDF supports Adobe layers and the page backgrounds and images can be disabled to make printing easier.

Here are some sample results:

  • Rumours have abounded for some time that there are lost Elven artefacts and ancient weapons in the Ghur Highlands, just waiting to be found, but no proof of that has been shown. It's rumoured, though, that every time someone claims to have proof, they disappear, along with whatever the proof was, never to be found again.
  • Ruptures in the Broken Plains have widened over the years, revealing treasures buried below the surface. It's rumoured that treasures are not the only things uncovered, and that sometimes a rupture ends up releasing something dangerous that was buried long ago, and should have remained that way.
  • Skorn is the leader of the Great Beast Tribe of Orcs and he coordinates his tribe's efforts for and against the other Orc tribes. Skorn is known to be both ruthless and unfailingly honourable when his word is given, but he's also old and it's rumoured that he may not be the leader for much longer. Some of the other tribes are concerned by just who might replace him.
  • Some Orcs claim that the Erd Riverlands are where the Broken Plains weep as their peoples grow more tame and peaceful. Some even claim that the land will eventually die because of this, and are trying to encourage Orcs to revert to the older ways in order to preserve the land where they live.
  • Storms and lightning are a constant plague in the Charg'r Wastes, and there are rumours that it is the storms that created the wastes. Some claim that the storms are gradually covering a greater area, and as they expand, the wastes are doing so as well.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
