What sets Call of Dungeons apart from other dungeon crawlers:

  • Semi-Random Dungeon System: Call of Dungeons stands out with its innovative system of semi-random dungeons. This mechanic ensures that each game is different, offering a new dungeon layout with every session. This allows players to enjoy a renewed and unpredictable experience every time.
  • Play with Your Miniatures: The game is compatible with any range of 28/32 mm scale medieval-fantasy miniatures. The archetypes are deliberately based on those from HeroQuest, allowing for great ease of adaptation to your personal collection.
  • No Dungeon Master Required: Call of Dungeons eliminates the need for a dungeon master. All elements, from opponents to events and the dungeon map itself, are managed by the game system, allowing you to focus entirely on the exploration and combat experience.
  • Real Solo/Coop mode: The game is playable with 1 to 4 heroes simultaneously. Controlled by a single player or a group of friends dividing the roles as they see fit. No app needed, just take your minis and play, alone or with friends. 
  • High Replayability and Adaptability: With its varied content and its "sandbox" design, Call of Dungeons guarantees high replayability. The numerous combinations of tiles, cards, and quests promise ever-renewed scenarios. It will also be very easy for you to write your own quests inspired by the 5 provided with the game.
  • Character Evolution: The game's heroes can evolve and gain skills through the trophy and level system. This progression occurs during the game, and not between sessions, making the level advancement epic.
What You Get with the Digital Version of Call of Dungeons (Now fully available in English!):
  1. Dungeon Tiles: 12 different tiles (each 5x5 squares), each with a unique design, representing the varied sections of the dungeon.

  2. Cards : A total of 97 cards divided into different categories:

    • Threat cards: 16 ards, the unexpected events in the dungeon.
    • Opponent cards: 16 cards, the enemies to face.
    • Search cards : 32 cards, the items and treasures that can be found.
    • Heroes cards: 4 cards, the heroes you can play
    • Class cards : 8 cards, the skill levels of the heroes, with special abilities and handicap, making them unique
    • Quest cards : 5 cards, each of them define a specific mission in the dungeon
    • Wound cards : 16 cards, no need for markers to keep track of wounds, we have cards for that too!

In the campaign, does your character level reset in between scenarios or do you get progressively stronger?

Hi Jess,
In the campaign mode, your hero does not reset between quests. Instead, they progressively get stronger. Heroes start with level 0 and can retain their class cards, equipment, and certain injuries from one quest to another. As they accumulate trophies, they can level up, becoming more powerful with each quest they complete​​. The highest level is 3.

These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
