Ok 4,99 for 17 pages 7 of which are already just general talk ? Seriously ?
I really like all sort of mechanics for hexcrawl and i sort of collection them, but hard pass on this one.

I am interested in this, but the fact that it’s part one for 499 and only has 17 pages is somewhat concerning. How many parts will there be? Does this first part have anything that I can actually use in my game? I don’t know, I really want to buy this and the fact that I’m writing my first comment ever on DTRPG speaks to just how utterly flummoxed I am by this lol

This is "Part 1," of how many parts? This book is only 17 pages in length. How many books will be in the series, and if they are all only 17 pages, will be there be a compendium containing the whole series? Any timeline showing when the multi-part series will be finished? I like the premise and the idea, but I don't want to nickel and dime my way into having the complete series -- I want it all in one go, start-to-finish, preferably in one, POD volume. Cheers!

I agree with Bruce. I want to buy the completed 7 -or whatever- part series under one PDF with one table of contents to look up anything I want. Can someone please tag me if they publish out such a thing?

I've fallen for something like this before buying less then 20 pages for nearly $5 and then when the series is over they sell it to you again in a better organized complete collection with bonus material. I have a lot of systems to keep current on. OSR, FATE, ICONS, and begrudgingly 5E and other all capital letter names. Oftentimes I have to be choosey as to which books I get to have every payday.

Is this book simply a lengthy overview or is there actually some actionable material we can use in here to augment existing open world games? I ask because the preview file just looks like a history and the start of an overview to me.

I am a backer for both Tale of the Valiant and the ToV Game Master's Guide. Will this book still be useful or will the material be repeated in the ToV books?

Does this address or suggest mechanical changes that could help 5E better support hexcrawling or does it assume RAW rules implementation?

PUBLISHER
Hi Nathaniel!
The series will be a thorough exploration of using 5E to run your hexcrawl campaign. We'll be introducing mechanics for factions, random encounters and other aspects of the hexcrawl, but nothing we introduce will overwrite or cancel out anything in the 5E ruleset. Essentially, we're providing more robust and thorough support for a hexcrawl campaign than you'll find in RAW, but we haven't broken anything that's already there.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
