100 Deep Space Character Goals

What drives your character? Is it some kind of wealth, achievement, love, revenge, or status? By understanding their key motivation you can explain why a character will wear what they wear, how they act, who they associate with, and why they do the things they do.

This list is intended for any Deep Space / Space Frontier adventure setting (like Star Trek, Star Wars, Traveller, Mothership, Alien, Space Opera, Babylon 5, Red Dwarf, Cyberpunk, Rifts, etc.) where people live on the edge of the unknown. This table will help you define a player character or a non-player character. This roleplaying tool gives you dozens of different ways to add a new dimension to a Deep Space character. NOTE: We recommend rolling twice or three times and choosing the goal that best fits the situation.
