From the author of the bestselling games ENTITY and Campfire Story comes a new solo cyberpunk game, KUROI.

Yeronym_KUROI.png

In addition to simple but rich rules, the game also features top-notch artwork from world-renowned illustrators to visualize its own unique world.

Kuro is a cyberpunk setting which pays homage to the greatest giants of the Cyberpunk genre, of which the author has been a die-hard fan since the early 90s.

The game is played on a 6x6 inch grid and is a so-called micro wargame. You progress from level to level of a heavily guarded corporate building, trying to fulfill the objectives of your Heist.

The game uses a unique Action roll system with two rerolls (Yatzee style) that you must tactically manage in your turn by using these dice to buy various actions and enhance them.

In the game, you can choose several ways to progress through each level, you can be stealthy or manipulate enemies or go all out with your entire arsenal.

Permanently improve your character from Heist to Heist with cyberware and try to complete Heists in the buildings of the most influential and dangerous megacorporations.

Kuro also offers various tables and generators to support storytelling, such as different factions, corporations, events, complications, rewards, weapons, items, cyberware, and different types of Heist levels.

In case you don't own any miniatures, you can download a grid and a set of miniature portrait tokens to substitute it.

Are Sneak Kill and Silent KO the same thing? Is a KO considered a kill, in that they enemy can't regain consciousness and are eliminated from the level.

Distraction & Get Intel actions
<br />
Distraction: conflict between character sheet rule reminder, and rulebook. Do you rotate the enemy "90 CW" or "any direction"?
<br />
Get Intel: just to make sure I understood, If I use a 4+ and any 3 other dice, I would get a total of 4 Intel?

Hello Emmanuel, You are rotating 90cw it was a nerf for previous "in any direction" based on testing. With intel you are absolutelly correct.

1) Shouldn't be 5 Intel? I suppose that the die you use to activate the Action is still counting. The rules says (in short) "dice+1" Intel gained. In the example Emmanuel used the first die to activate the action and 3 extra dice so 4 dice +1 = 5
Am I wrong?

2) What is a "Tactical Roll" (pag.14)?

3) In the equip, both Kevlar Armor and Balistic Shield (PS: it should be BaLListic) have the same description and the same price, while the Shield has 1 extra Usage. Something isn't well balanced, here, I think.

Thanks for the info, I hope you'll polish the book.

Hi have a few questions please:

1) When you buy cyberware "exoskeleton" for example - does that permanently increases your maximum combat skill level? Or does it just add 1 skill point at the beginning of each heist?

2) If an enemy has a major movement and it is facing another adjacent enemy, does it "skip over" the other enemy, or does it turn 90 degrees before starting movement?

3) To reach "caution" what is the number that the alertness level has to reach? 6 or 7? In other words, if I am using a cube to track alertness on the track, where does the cube start at the beginning of the heist? Outside the track or on the first box?

Thanks!

Had a bucket of fun with this game on a flight to Korea. Was even able to use minis from Cyberpunk Red, to have that ttrpg experience. Needless to say, great game design. As I was playing in such a constrained environment, I would love to give feedback on what data should be where, or more the 1 page pdfs that would help with ease of play.

For the game itself, there were some clarifying questions:
1. Between levels in a heist, do your skill points and hit points regenerate, or do you keep going?
2. I played the garage level and had two questions on LoS and Partial Cover:
a. Do I have line of sight if i can trace a line from one square to another, even if one is blocked by a solid terrain feature?
b. Do I get partial cover if I'm behind a pillar? Does the enemy also get that they are not directly next to the terrain feature or cover?
3. If I kill off the 3 enemies, that means for every turn it takes me to collect intel and exit, I'm generating 6 points on...See more

The way I've been playing, there's no regeneration between levels in a heist - I think otherwise this would affect difficulty (making things a lot easier) too much....

Rules question: If I cross an enemy's Line of Sight, do I have to end my movement immediately? I don't see a specific guideline for that. I see that enemies will end their movement once they have LoS on me, but if I have 3 or 5 move, can I continue across their LoS to the end my full allotment? I know I am changing them to Full Alert/Engagement mode by doing so, but I feel it's OK to get them to chase me a little.
Thank you for the game--it is a lot of fun so far.

Hi, I’m having fun running my first heist but am running into a few rules clarity issues:

1) An enemy is still in the patrol phase and turns to face my character. However, my character is behind partial cover. Is the enemy alerted, or is it assumed that the character is hiding behind the low cover?

2) An enemy is still in the patrol phase. I make a melee attack from behind the enemy, however I fail to KO them. How does the enemy react to this? Does this trigger the alert?

I'm excited to get this to the table, but I have a question about a sentence that seems to be missing some words. Under SNEAK on page 7, it says "This Action not raise Alertness when crossing an Enemy's Line of
Sight"

I am assuming this is supposed to say "This Action does not raise Alertness except when crossing an Enemy's Line of Sight".

Is that correct? This makes sense to me - they won't hear you if you're sneaking, but if you cross their line of sight they will see you anyway.

Thanks!

I'm having so much fun with this game I'd like to contribute in my own way. I went ahead and sketched up the 12 potential encounters using 2minutetabletop elements. Should be easy enough to upload to any VTT or photo editor or even print and play. Find it here:

Hi Peter. I am very excited to get this to the table! I had a quick skim through the rules and for the life of me cannot find the "Featured Object" table mentioned on p.23. The next page (p. 24) show the room layouts, and then the pdf ends there... is there supposed to be a p. 25?

This game is a little jewel! I know it's supposed ti be a solo game, but what could I do if I wanted to play with my gf or a couple friends? I guess upping enemy Action Dice and increasing the amount of Intel needed in order to complete the Heist would be enough?

The site won't let me rate/review so I'll put it here. Give it a 4* since it's my first and I don't have anything else to compare it to (little D&amp;D and WH40K experience, no solo games). Decided to also pick up the author's other game ENTITY. Took me a bit to get the rules down (I assume that's usually the case). Had a lot of fun running my first Heist! Definitely worth the price!

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
