Just Another Goblin Cave is a short introductory adventure for a 1st level party about failed expectations and changing circumstances. Most groups finish the delve in a single short and chaotic session full of cascading mischief, so it makes a hilarious one-shot or a really fun launchpad mission for a campaign. This is one of my favorite scenarios to run for a new group's first session and I've never had a bad time with it, it's always a blast. You're gonna send them to retrieve and escort a blacksmith from a gnomish smithy. Tell them to expect a cave entrance with a rain shelter and a horsehitch, attended by welcoming gnome blacksmiths. Inside the cave the PCs will find decent starter weapons, a magic item with some fun off-label uses, and a once-proud gnomish forge now captured and desecrated by a marauding goblin war band.

"I'm a huge fan of these, these are awesome. They read so easily
and they're so funny and like, I just really love them...
I think they're wonderful and people should check 'em out.

"I feel like these books need a series name, y'know?
I need some kind of identity to assign to these things.

This adventure is part of a series of lovingly handcrafted zine-style OSR modules with intricate hand-drawn maps, intended to showcase unique and consequential locations for low-level parties to experience in the oldschool, exploratory style. All the art is hand-drawn by real people and always will be. My goal is to show off low-level adventures with some real depth and interaction, more than simple dungeoncrawls. They are generally compatible with Basic Fantasy, Old-School Essentials, Labyrinth Lord, DCC, Five Torches Deep, and most other OSR-style rulesets. You can easily convert them into modern systems if that's your thing. Every adventure is thoroughly playtested with multiple groups at my own table so you can be sure that you're not getting some dashed-off nonsense here, these are gonna give you a good time. You can preview the entire thing before buying.

It looks small because it is. This is basically a one-page dungeon, designed with all the critical stuff on a single sheet. Screen and print versions are both included with purchase but seriously print it out, it's all black&white and intentionally cheap cheap cheap to print.

Great adventure for a one off. Love the zine style lay out and artwork. Easy to get started and moving. Beginners will have traps, treasure and plenty of trouble to get into while the Swarm Countdown slowly ticks away. [...]

Oh man, this is one of my favorite adventures! The ogre at the entrance is perfect. The traps are exactly what you want them to be. I love the countdown timer for the goblin swarm. And the treasure is mighty - for those who can survive to claim it! Thi [...]

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
