Founding of the Constellarium

Eight centuries ago, a community of Alpans from Mount Guodomir wanted to venerate the Watching Stars by constructing a temple dedicated to them. The Alpans named the temple the Constellarium and built its grand halls as artistic dedications to each of the twelve stars. As word of mouth brought devout followers to the temple’s chambers for education and clergy training, the need for the Constellarium’s expansion was addressed with the creation of Nabhas Academy about three hundred years after the original founding.

The Constellarium became the name for the institution as a whole while the temple was renamed the Sanctum of Sagas, representing the clergy’s role in preserving the stories of the Watching Stars and passing on their teachings to future generations of heroes. Following the theme of interstellar and symbolic names, Nabhas Academy was inspired by the nebulous nature of the people of Haldskyr and of the students who walked the Constellarium’s halls: their destinies could be anything. Just like nebulae were star-forming regions, Nabhas was responsible for shaping and guiding the young minds that sought out its prestigious knowledge.

More recently, within the past hundred and twenty years, the Constellarium underwent its second expansion, adding a third branch to the ever-growing institution: a research department called S.T.A.R., or Sector of Travel, Astronomy, and Research. Within S.T.A.R. could be found recent graduates from Nabhas Academy looking to build careers, seasoned experts from around Haldskyr who wished to work with the Constellarium’s reputation and resources, and all kinds of bright, innovative minds from across multiple disciplines.

Welcome! In this companion to our cosmic fantasy setting Haldskyr, A Freshman's Codex to the Constellarium allows Alders and Wanderers to explore and learn more about the great univeristy and the Haskryn - colleges - within it. Wanderers can join Naasing, Fisemus, Breytu or Vondej and learn of the Watching Stars and their lore. 

This book also offers a new lineage - the osuur - and a collection of new careers: astronomer, athlete, humanitarian, patron, researcher, and starspeaker! There is a ton of amazing content in this book which is a must-have for your Haldskyr campaigns!
