Thanks for this Prologue Chris. I'm excited about Cohors Cthulhu: Tactics. I have some questions.

Can the Fear dice be increased above 6 (causing units in the squad to Flee) only by the action of the Panic mechanic?

Does a Mythos unit Press the Attack only in the Consolidation step of resolving a Charge by said Mythos unit? Does the Mythos unit Press the Attack in any other case is my question.

Spawning Mythos units question. On page 17, if you roll a Spawn result that should put a Mythos unit into play that is already in play, and all of the higher results are in play; do you remove a Spawn token then add a Spawn token to the pool, resulting in zero accumulation of Spawn tokens? Or do you simply add a Spawn token to the pool, which would be a net gain of one in Spawn tokens?

Thank you.

Hi there! Fear can be increased above 6 by the Panic mechanic, you cannot take any actions that would increase Fear once you're at 6.
A Mythos presses the attack just before consolidation (page 15). They always press the attack after the player unit's action in the Quickstart. In the full rules it may be different as there may be different mythos unit abilities/limits. Pressing the Attack is a result of being attacked by a player unit, or attacking with a first action, and they have a second action in which case they attack again.
Page 17 - you would just add a Spawn token if nothing is available to spawn so there is +1 more spawns. If in doubt make it better for Mendaxius :-)

How does this play Solo? I haven't found it in the QS rules. Thank you.

Page 15 starts describing the solo rules - Mendaxius is the AI player. Page 17 talks about the Spawn pool, and how to spawn enemies, page 19 how Mendaxius will direct their forces - the rules are spread throughout to teach you as you play rather than one big chunk. The main rulebook will be organised will be organised as a normal reference of course.

Thank you. I see them now, don't know why I didn't notice them before.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
