Goldenscale Cliffs, Bridge and Statue Battlemap

The Goldenscale Cliffs are the home of the Thunderfury Dwarves.  Their home, in the kingdom of Cracius, has become a sort of trade capital, thanks to the work of Dorn Thunderfury.  Once thought to be a bit too peculiar for the likes of his kin, his ability to build relationships with the overland people of Cracius has made him a great resource to traders and merchants.  The king of the Thunderfury Dwarves allowed Dorn to build a sizable cottage atop the Goldenscale Cliffs (east of what this map represents), but he still takes care of two things: the wildflower field that he was allowed to cultivate, and the massive statue of the legendary King Vaulen, who stands as a testament to what the Thunderfury Dwarves have achieved (and it also serves as a lightning rod to protect them from the elements).

A mighty bridge also connects the western and eastern cliffs, with others which can be found along the cliffs below.

The items that you will receive in this package will help you elevate your TTRPG experience, and bring your world to life.  Here is what you can expect from this set:

  • The base level of the map in high-res gridded and gridless versions.
    • The map is tiled at 40x20 dimensions (40 tiles wide by 20 high).
  • A dreary day variant of the map in high-res gridded and gridless versions which has a mighty storm pelting the cliffs, leading to a few places with a bit more mud.
  • A variant of the map in high-res gridded and gridless versions which removes the tree in the wildflower field, replacing it with additional flowers instead.
  • A point-of-interest document that will help you determine places in the map that you could structure your adventure around in order to make it more dynamic.
  • No watermark.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
