The Far Away Land Role-Playing Game (2nd Edition) Core Rules is the new edition of the top-rated role-playing game. Streamlining and simplifying much of what was contained in the first edition, this book offers all of the rules you need to get started as you create heroic (perhaps diabolical) characters and seek out adventures. Whether you want to delve deep into dungeons, go to war, or explore the vast universe of Far Away Land, the Far Away Land RPG: Core Rules is what you need to get started. This book features:

Basic Rules: FAL uses a simple d6 dice pool system. The rules are easy to learn and modular, allowing GMs to add additional components as needed. 

Character Creation: 36 PC Heritages are provided along with 14 Boons allowing for incredibly unique characters. Build a teleporting block-head Blonin, a buff elephant-like Ollymar, or a wily fox-like Vulpox thief. FAL uses a classless system allowing players to grow their PCs how they see fit. Over 50 Abilities are included to further define various heritages and powers. 

Combat: A simple and exciting combat system that can be learned in minutes. Like other systems in FAL, the combat is modular and based on a core dice-pool mechanic allowing GMs to implement additional and optional rules as needed. 

Magic: A robust magic system consisting of 150+ premade spells along with an on-the-fly magic creation system allows for endless possibilities when it comes to magic-wielding PCs and foes.

Expansion Rules and Generators: All kinds of rules and guidelines for expanding your FAL experience. Includes rules for Downtime between adventures, Training Montages (narrate your PC’s training to inspirational music to gain bonuses), Character Grinders (mini-games for Level 0 PCs to weed out the weak and give players a low-stakes gaming experience with disposable characters - it sounds really bad when we say it that way), simple Mass Combat rules for large scale combat scenarios, and loads of generators and charts for randomly creating everything from Settlements to Castles to Events and Dungeons!

Adventures: Two adventures are included in the Core Rules. The first is a Level 0 Character Grinder designed to create Level 1 PCs. The second is a Level 1 adventure for PCs just getting started on the road to greatness (or, more likely, ruin).

Also included are lists of gear, rules for crafting, magic items, vehicles, travel, non-player characters and much more!

As a publisher I cannot review non-publisher resources.
So I just write it here.
FAL 2nd edition is amazing. It is funny, it is easy to learn.
We are playing the level one adventure in the book in the following weeks.
I'll write a small review of it :)

These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
