A true horror game for the 5E rule set

Nearly every TTRPG group begins their adventures with swords, elves, crackling spells, goblins and dragons.  We cut our gaming teeth with these tropes and learn to love the art form through them, shepherding fragile characters into powerful heroes, and, eventually, virtual demi-gods.  We spend years learning the nuances of the rules, adapting to updates and erata, but, eventually, we want something different.

Attrition

Attrition was created for these groups. Built on the backbone of those old, familiar 5E rules, Attrition is a horror game that actually works. Do you have a group that would love to play a Lovecraftian horror game but doesn't have the time or money to adapt to an entirely new system?  Attrition is for you; with the easy to follow rule-changes you'll use this book to eliminate the dreaded power-creep that so often unbalances 5E horror, creating protagonists more reminiscent of the teens from "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" than the heroes from Marvel movies.  Use easy-to-understand adaptions to drive the characters slowly insane as reality (and their body) begins to collapse around them.  Use simple, direct systems for handling modern day situations, from driving and repairing vehicles to automatic gun-fire.  Everything you need is within these pages.  Additionally, we've included 2 scenarios to help get you going and spark further ideas: "The Hatless Man", the tale of a demon from beyond the realm of thought who's come back to the small town of Suburton to collect it's dues; and, "The House on the Hill that's Haunted", a classic "Haunt Mansion" story with a twist that's sure to keep the players guessing.

Attrition is meant for intermediate to advanced TTRPG groups who are already familiar with the 5E SRD.  It's perfect for creating your own adventures of terror and and desperation, but is also suitable for use in converting those other modules you've bought into a more familiar form.  We hope you enjoy!
