Dungeon Vault Magazine - Issue 50

Published by Elven Tower

This is issue No. 50 of Dungeon Vault Magazine. It is a compilation of adventures, lore, excellent cartography, and useful digital goodies. The content in this magazine is designed for use with both Dungeons & Dragons 5e and Shadowdark RPG rules; separate PDFs are included.

This is a thematic magazine issue that includes a small regional setting and nine interconnected adventures/scenarios that occur within. In this short, low-level campaign, the characters visit the region of Leaf Valley. A terrible threat looms over the populace of this region as a red dragon has claimed the dormant volcano as its lair. The draconic menace flies by nearby settlements daily to kill peasants, burn buildings, and scorch plantations. The ruler, Shalendra, summons mercenaries and adventurers to enlist them in their fight against the ruby dragon. The characters can charge head-on against the abominate dragon or take a step back to research its origin and gain crucial information to confront it. This is a time for heroes. Those who prevail shall earn glory and renown in Leaf Valley.

Dungeon Vault Magazine provides interesting ideas and lore to DMs and storytellers. Within this issue, you will find varied adventure ideas. The one-shot adventures found herein can easily be ported to other TTRPG systems like PathfinderOld School Essentials, and Dungeon Crawl Classics.

PURCHASER
I have purchased every issue through #50 and I love them all. I can't say enough positive things about this monthly magazine. I got a great deal for my money, too. It was one of three budgeted monthly purchases I made.

However, the recent jump in the price from $6.95 to $8.95 with #51 has ended my collection. I see that earlier issues are being repriced as well. Everything is costing more these days, so I get it. But this isn't my only luxury expense and I too have a limited budget. I looked forward to each issue's monthly release and from #1 to #50 the prices rose from $4.95 to $5.95 to $6.95. But $8.95 has forced me to stop buying this product.

Thank you for 50 great issues, though,

PUBLISHER
Good day, Gregory! This is Derek. First of all, thank you for your loyalty to our product. It saddens me to read your message too. The decision to bump the price was not an easy one and we decided to make up for it by increasing page count and overall content in the magazine; as you can see in issue 51. That said not all is lost as we often do sales and bundles of past issues so maybe in the near future you can catch this product at a price that remains affordable to you. We also often share a discounted coupon (around 30-35%) through our newsletter which you can subscribe to at the following link: www (dot) elventower (dotcom) / joinus /

Sorry for writing it this way, straight links are not allowed by this site.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
