STRONGCURRENT is a neo-noir detective rpg set in the near past using the brand new rulesystem "CauseAndEffect". With constant updating content such as maps, art and expansions the hard working team strives to give customers a breathe of fresh air in the RPG genre.
It’s 1990, and the world is barreling forward at an unprecedented pace. On one hand, technological advancements are opening doors to previously unimaginable possibilities, promising a brighter future for all. The internet, once a mere novelty, has become an integral part of daily life, connectingpeople across the globe in ways both exhilarating and terrifying.
Computers have become the backbone of modern society, processing information at lightning-fast speeds and storing vast amounts of data with ease. But as the digital landscape continues to evolve, so too do the opportunities for cybercrime to flourish. Criminals are exploiting vulnerabilities in software and hardware, using malware and viruses to steal sensitive information and wreak havoc on unsuspecting
victims.
These latest developments in computer technology have given rise to a thriving black market for stolen credit card numbers, Social Security data, and sensitive corporate information. Criminals are using these stolen goods to fund their operations, fueling a lucrative underground economy that’s increasingly hard to track.
Meanwhile, the media is feeding the public a constant stream of sensationalized news and entertainment, glorifying the exploits of ruthless gangsters and corrupt officials. The line between reality and Hollywood fiction has grown perilously thin, as hoodlums vie for attention and notoriety by pushing the boundaries of what’s acceptable in their twisted game.
The once-clear distinction between right and wrong has given way to a murky gray area where morality and ethics are constantly shifting. As the world becomes increasingly interconnected, it seems that nothing is sacred – and everything is up for grabs.
Against this backdrop of moral decay, the police division is struggling to keep up with theever-evolving landscape of crime. As the complexity of criminal activity increases, so too does the sophistication of forensic evidence left at crime scenes. Gone are the days of simple fingerprints andeyewitness accounts; today’s detectives must contend with digital footprints and invisible actors that can be used to piece together a puzzle or destroy a case.
Corruption within the police force itself has become an increasingly pressing concern. The temptation to take a “little something extra” in exchange for turning a blind eye to certain crimes has become an insidious problem, with some officers willing to accept small bribes – like a hudred-dollar billhere, a free meal there – in exchange for discreetly handling a situation.
The air is thick with tension, heavy with the weight of secrets and lies. Everyone seems to be watching everyone else, waiting for the other shoe to drop or the next scandal to erupt. The city is apowder keg, just waiting for the spark that will set it off in a blaze of chaos and destruction.
And yet, amidst this chaos and corruption, a shadow is emerging. It’s as if it has attatched itself to the very criminals changing the fabric of the city.
As the sun sets on another long day in the city, the darkness that follow grows behind them more menacing. The shadow is lengthening, and as again the clock strikes nightfall, rumors emerge of the horror lurking within its depths.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
