The Korolan Islands, 1620 ST.

South of the Korolan Islands flows the treacherous Bezarngay Boil, concealing the islands of Cwat-Bajat and Bhat-Nupu. These islands are a hotbed of antigods and hungry monsters of darkness and chaos. Shrouded in mystery and danger, Cwat-Bajat and Bhat-Nupu abound with ancient ruins and cursed artifacts. The inhabitants have made pacts with the antigods, harnessing their power for their own dark purposes. Explorers who venture too close to these islands have never returned, their ships vanishing into the swirling, steamy mists of the Bezarngay Boil. It is a place where only the bravest and most foolhardy dare to tread, seeking forbidden knowledge and power at their own peril.

The final volume in this long-running series opens with a brief overview of Hero Wars events in the East Isles and then describes two cults of the Antigods of Vithela: the Queen of Hungry Monsters and the Demon King of the Andins. A writeup of the cursed island of Cwat-Bajat and a fully-crewed warship in which to travel there are provided, followed by a classic dungeon-bash featuring a cave complex in five distinct sections, inhabited by rival factions, ancient mysteries and demonic Andin invaders – all of which may well respond to any incursion. Adventurers can fight alongside the heroic Queen Vele and her boon companions, or make their own way stealthily through the caverns and ruins. Beautiful full-page artwork brings the more monstrous demonic opponents vividly to life. An alternate setting suggests relocating the island to Skyfall Lake and replacing factions with appropriate locals (Cragspider’s Trolls vs. intrepid Wolf Pirates?) so it can be used in a traditional Dragon Pass-centric campaign.

PURCHASER
This shows as flagged, for me, after I hit reply, This has nor happen before, I am putting my review after Nick's because his is a better introduction than I could have written. Out here in the hinterlands of Nevada I am hoping for a RQ birth, not rebirth and am running 3 Champagnes, 2 are in the Dragonpass/Prax area of the world and 1 in the far east.
I bought the first installment of this series and because it provided what I felt was a complete setting outside of what I (RQ2 in the 70s and 80s) knew. I wanted to try it. and I am very glad I did, my players found it easy to enter the game world and had some fun times as they dealt with Tricksters, Deceivers, Friends and Politics, etc. all well supported and engaging. As each module came out, they and I were able to develop their characters and fully flesh them out. this brings us to the Final installment, my group is not there yet, they are having fun with other problems and exploring the islands. I truly appreciate the multiple directions that the...See more

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
