Extinct Nativity - Expanded Character Origins for Death in Space
by Aidan L. [Verified Purchaser] Date Added: 08/11/2023 13:05:01

I've found this book to be quite enjoyable. I've run a game of Death In Space using this book's new origins and have read through this book. As far as gameplay balance goes I do think most things line up fairly well. Other fan-made origins often make the core book's origins very underpowered compared to the new ones they add. This book strikes a good middle where most origins are useful or can be very useful depending on the context they are used. My only issue is some seem very unbalanced or unneedly 'goofy'. The balance has to do with a few origins seeming to have very powerful things. Such as making any foes roll moral checks at a disadvantage which seems quite powerful and some origins have one option which appears to be purely better than the other option for that origin. The goof is there is straight up a ripoff jedi, another that allows you to hurt yourself to feed your crew and a few others. Granted 95% of the origins are balanced and not 'goofy' so for 3$ I do think it's a steal and I highly recommend it.

No moves, no asset, no character sheet...i know it's sold cheaply, but it's definitely not enough even for 2 dollars...

Wasteland Caravaneers
by Gorgar W. [Verified Purchaser] Date Added: 04/19/2019 20:34:45

This incoherent mess has the ugly, sloppy layout you'd expect from the worst fan-made homebrews. It doesn't know what it wants to be as a "game," and the author's indifference to this turd is apparent by the fact they didn't even bother converting the docX to pdf. Possibly worth the 50 cent pricetag if only to be amused by how bad it is. But if you have something, anything, better to spend two quarters on — don't bother with this.
