Crikey I love this! After playing the solo gamebook of the same name I recall the author got several, "will there be a RPG?" requests. And, here it is! Beautifully illustrated throughout with a fun collection of characters 'TWAS acts as a lightweight alternatively traditional RPGs. Oh, and a shout out for the full-colour illustrations throughout. Exquisite!
I'd recommend this game for both new and experienced gamers. The former due to the fairly light rules, and the latter to try something new. The game takes a scene-by-scene approach, and players pick characters such as the Robot, Fairy, etc. Ie: some of the decorations that you may find on a Christmas tree. Each is brought to life with nifty special abilities that can add to the group's ability to succeed in each scene and move on to the next.
On top, the author regularly creates new expansions so buying this rulebook, and playing the pre-defined scenes there-in is not a one-off game. Each expansion picks a different theme and adds both new playable characters and locations to the growing 'TWAS world.
