Zweihander is one of those games that, on the surface, is an awesome, neutral set grimdark tromp, but when you gwt to thw heart of it, it reveals itself to be a great aetting for just about any fantasy setting where stakes matter and heroes are forged in the game, not prepackaged superheroes weild9ng swords.
Being tough, but fair, the D10 system it uses is wonderfully balanced with plenty of room to be as firm/fair as a table needs to be, and building intricate mystery, hard hitting combat, and a magic system that doesnt give off the "video game" feel that many others do is very refreshing. For players and DMs looking to play something less D20centric, this is one of the first games I bring to the table.
All in all, Zweihander falls into my top 10 for Grimdark, and top 20 for games in general. When I want something dark, where stakes are high and heroes need to stay on their toes, I dont have to go far with Zweihander!

Trims down a bit for easier readability from the previous edition, solid rule foundations, fun character building, I particularly like the new death mechanic for player characters. My group and I are looking forward to getting deep into this.
I also like the art in the book, I do wish there were a few more bookmarks for navigating the professions and spells faster, but those are very minor nitpicks

In short, cool setting, great combat system
WHFRP with hookers and blackjack.
As a DM, i've run a ton of PnP newbies through this system with basically zero issues, including people not great with math.
As a rules nerd, I love the combat system, use of action points, combat options without being dependent on class abilities, and the lack of constant incremental power creep and needing a constant supply of +1s to stay relevant. Also the randomization in lethality in terms of not needing a super powerful weapon to land a really lucky shot and kill someone
Fate points are a cool system as well. Overall really love it, even if i'm not 100% sold on the percentile system. Still, my favorite RPG both as a player and GM.

Some great ideas here. I like the idea of being a survivor as opposed to default heroic. There's also a nice style to the game that reinforces the themes.

Love this game. When playing an indestructible superhero just feels boring, look to Zweihander! The whole ‘survivor’ angle is brilliant and gives the game so much more depth. So, strap on that mortis sword, grab a shield and a helmet, then dive in.
You won’t regret it!

Zweihander: Reforged is a compelling game that inspires creativity, whether it be as the game master or player.

Zweihander Reforged is an amazing update to the classis d100 ruleset from the OG Zweihander/Main Gauche. It streamlines some rules and gameplay, adds new features such as new and expanded ancestries, campaign seeds and an intro scenario. Also its much more streamlined which helps make it easier to process such a massive tome. Given the amount of content, its almost impossible to ever have two groups that feel the same and the possible character builds are endless.
If you like dark fantasy titles such as Berserk, the Witcher, Darkest Dungeon, etc then you will enjoy Zweihander.

Grim, perilous survival horror. The reforged edition is streamlined and efficient. Combat, social interaction, travel and skills are fluid. Monsters are better balanced and easy to create. In fact, I find this game lends itself particularly well to "house rules." So well, that it's not really limited to survival horror; you can do heroic fantasy with it too. If you are looking for a game that enables you to really develop a character, rather than accumulate items, I highly recommend Zweihander Reforged. It is a breath of fresh air in a market dominated by dungeons.
Also, the artwork is inspiring!

This is a great edition of the game. They've cleaned up and simplified the rules and focused them more. It's perfect for any grim and gritty w/ capable characters setting. It's pretty far at this point from being a WFRP 2e clone. Would recommend

I love this new version as I did with the first one. But it is not only love for this game, the Reforged edition brings fresh air to some mechanics, making it better than the previous one in those areas wich were more tricky

Great update to Zweihander. Its a much easier read now, and it has a lot more of its own identity than before.

Zweihander Reforged is SO GOOD, a really great streamlining of the original rules. And I love Dejan Mandic's art, it brings it all together and gives the setting a singular, cohesive tone. Masterpiece!

If you like Grimdark, Zweihander is for you.
It's got murder, it's got heresy, it's got horror, what's not to like?
Zweihander: Reforged is an excellent d100 dark fantasy game, and would be a fine addition to any TTRPG collection
