D20-S1 The Linkworlds Cluster
by JJ
Publisher: Far Future Enterprises - Traveller
Date Added: 06/20/2024 18:40:03
pixel_trans.gif D20-S1 The Linkworlds Cluster I ran a campaign using Mongoose 2E rules and this book, The Linkworlds Cluster, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was my first time refereeing and the book really had everything I needed. It has background history, patrons, small encounters, adventures, and then a manageable campaign scenario that has the players taking their ship to each world detailed in the book to do some deliveries. It's perfect and I can't state how strongly I recommend it! The players and I spent more than a year playing the whole book end to end and that introduction kept the group playing til today, about nine years later. ...

Fabula Ultima Game Master's Toolkit
by Douglas
Publisher: Need Games
Date Added: 06/20/2024 15:34:34
pixel_trans.gif Fabula Ultima Game Master's Toolkit This was slightly shorter than the previous books; but is full of a lot of useful wisdom for Game Masters. I haven't encountered a Fabula Ultima book that I don't like so far - and this one continues the trend of being enjoyable reads that I look forward to running at my table.

pixel_trans.gif A Place that was, is, and will be - Pink Pony of Death #1 You get a lot for your money here. A fleshed out floating City, a lot of cool tables and a fine map. The adventure presents a very interesting time problem and very mean and difficult decisions. And a lot of trouble for the characters of course.

D100 Space (Book 1)
by Stephen
Publisher: Martin Knight
Date Added: 06/20/2024 12:06:47
pixel_trans.gif D100 Space (Book 1) SOFT COVER BINDING FALLING APART! I am only rating the soft cover book - the game itself is really good! However, I ordered the soft cover book and unfortunately the binding on it is terrible- the pages started separating from the book binding within a few days. I do not abuse my books and I do not fold the pages back - just simply opening it up on a flat surface. So I ordered the hardcover. I am annoyed I payed twice though. Hopefully the hardcover is better quality

Martian Crawl Classics (MCC RPG)
by James
Publisher: Savage AfterWorld
Date Added: 06/20/2024 10:32:20
pixel_trans.gif Martian Crawl Classics (MCC RPG) I'm a backer from the KS- this is a great take on War of the Worlds! Tim has done an excellent job adapting the invaders to the MCC system- this isn't a quick shoe horn job, care was taken to make sure the invaders are a menace, but not OP. The rules reflect a deep knowledge of the logic of the MCC system. The layout is crisp and easy to follow. Overall, get this book!

Eldritch: An Otherworldly RPG
by Thomas
Publisher: Darklight
Date Added: 06/20/2024 08:20:40
pixel_trans.gif Eldritch: An Otherworldly RPG Had the pleasure of play testing this RPG during its development. It was a lot of fun! My PI, Ed Higgings, In his time has Stopped a creature from its killing spree and stopped the end of the world. The world it creates is gripping and the horrors are fun to uncover highly recommend playing this if you are interested in something a little more dark.

T1 The Village of Hommlet (1e)
by Cameron
Publisher: Wizards of the Coast
Date Added: 06/20/2024 07:23:14
pixel_trans.gif T1 The Village of Hommlet (1e) The adventure is fine... However, the digital scan has not been cleaned up. Thus the map looks, disgusting, compared to the (crisp) remainder of the module. No effort to boost the faded blue colour or digitally clean up the detritus. Or even notice the mistake on the front cover triangle. Clue: letters O & D. Rose tinted nostalgia but needs a bit of an edit (or clean).

Eldritch: An Otherworldly RPG
by Janis
Publisher: Darklight
Date Added: 06/20/2024 05:20:45
pixel_trans.gif Eldritch: An Otherworldly RPG I played a Session with this RPG and i have to say it was really fun. You feel very free in character creation, while it is not complicated at all to do. The D6 system and the ability to push allows the player to have more agency in what they want to. I really like both the Motivation and Darkness feature. Giving a bonus to you when you act towards your Motivation makes playing the character the way you want way more rewarding and the ability to reveal your Darkness to get an auto success is another way to get agency, but with the downside of the negative effects of your darkness. So, for your Darkness you need to decide how badly you want to succeed at the check and how long you really have before the DM spends their doom to reveal the Darkness for you without this benefit. There are lots more to talk about, but these were my favorite features ...

Barrowmaze Complete 10th Anniversary (Monochrome Cover)
by A customer
Publisher: OSR Publishing
Date Added: 06/20/2024 02:10:39
pixel_trans.gif Barrowmaze Complete 10th Anniversary (Monochrome Cover) Speaking as a DM this has been the core "thing" of the longest-running and most successful tabletop campaign I've been involved with. The book excels in clean/easy presentation for both the main town of Helix and the dungeon itself--those elements have been astonishingly easy to run. The dungeon is surprisingly varied for as uniform as it appears on the surface. Great art throughout. I find the "story" of the module very thin and the pantheon details are quite weak, but it's malleable and easy enough for a DM to flesh out. Small random encounter tables, particularly on the barrow moor, are a bigger issue to me. I find the complete lack of detail given to the nearby "big city" Ironguard Motte pretty nonsensical. As a physical product, especially an "anniversary special edition," I think a fold-out poster map of the Barrowmaze would have made a lot of sense....

One Page Dungeon Compendium: 2023 Edition
by A customer
Publisher: Spiel Knights
Date Added: 06/20/2024 01:55:09
pixel_trans.gif One Page Dungeon Compendium: 2023 Edition The One Page Dungeon thing is certainly a noble effort. That being said out of 100+ entries, as a DM who prefers kind of low-fantasy minimally-gonzo stuff I could count on one hand the dungeons that I might ever actually use. "And Still They Rise" means anyone adhering to the theme is doing undead, baking, or both. Lots of (in my opinion) overly precious baking-zombie-themed pages in here. Some rarer stuff playing with "elevation" that might be kind of fun. Lair of the Lamentable Leech Lord (the very first entry) slotted PERFECTLY into my campaign and we had a great time with it....
